The basis of the Stone Training System is a series of purpose set training styles which are a combination of traditional methods and modern styles, implemented with purpose.

The uniqueness of the Stone Training System is that it brings together traditional training methods from previous eras, and combines it with modern sports science based methods.

Styles of training in the Stone Training System consist of:

- Roadwork (SLD= slow long distance)

- Flexibility
- Aerobic Conditioning

Program Characteristics
Program characteristics play a vital role in the design and implementation of a fitness training program. Without following solid training principle it would be difficult to achieve genuine results from fitness training.

Progressive Overload
In a generalised period of four to 6 weeks a variable of fitness will need to be changed in a fitness program to allow for the body to make adaptations.
