Gavin Stone Personal Training offers a fitness training service for mature adults who are seeking the benefits of a fitness training program, but with the understanding from a Personal Trainer of the requirements for older adults.
Personal Training for mature adults will include:
- Client consultation and understanding of lifestyle
- Previous injury or physical limitations assessment
- Modified fitness assessment (focusing on improvement areas)
- Health professional referral (if required)
- Appropriate fitness training program designed
- Appropriate personal training sessions implemented
Due to the degeneration of human cells (bone, muscle, organs) that mature adults will experience with aging it is important to consider elements effected such as the muscles suffering atrophy (size reduction), cardiovascular function reduction (by 5 to 15% per decade), maximal heart rate reduction (by 6 to 10 beats per minute per decade- which therefore decreases the maximal cardiac output), changes to the central and peripheral nervous system will cause slower reaction time and function (effecting sports performance), blood pressure and systemic vascular resistance increases during maximal exercise (in compassion to younger adults).
The process for Mature Adults Personal Training includes:
1) No charge initial consultation
2) First session: fitness screening, modified fitness assessment, stretching session
3) Referral to health professional (if required)
4) Design of program and/or individual session plan structure
5) Training sessions implemented
6) Review modified fitness assessments
Gavin Stone has satisfied the requirements of the National Fitness Registration Scheme (Fitness Australia) for registration in the area of Older Adults Trainer, therefore, coupled with his years of experience in training mature adults, has the education and knowledge to guide and implement the appropriate training for mature adults.
